Really nice AirBnb with a lovely large pool and lovely rooms. Really nice and helpful staff who also respect privacy. Large garden, outdoor and indoor kitchen, pool and four large rooms, each with its own toilet and bath. The grounds are a bit remote on a gravel road, but with a taxi back and forth to the beach and town, it's easy enough to get around. Definitely recommend!

Hamia was an amazing host. My friends and I had such a great time in the house. Hamia was very responsive and helpful even before we booked the place. With a group of 8 friends we had a wonderful time at Hamia's villa! The rooms were spacious and clean and the garden with the swimming pool and the living space outside was even more beautiful than in the photos. The contact with Patrick and Hamia was very nice: they were very cooperative in arranging the chefs and activities in the area. The location between Kendwa and Nungwi is also fine. All in all, it was a top stay!

My stay at the Airbnb was with a bit of mix reaction as the house itself is beautiful and the house keepers are amazing people who assisted at each point. The problem I encountered was the road leading to the Airbnb is just a path with rocks and holes. It is also pretty deep inside from the main road so walking alone at night time is not safe. We had a car rental and the road did some serious damage to the tires going in and out multiple times. Initially the room wasn't also cleaned properly, as we had the pleasure of finding a dead lizard friend and a few other bugs under the covers in the middle of the night, which we ended up cleaning ourselves. On the first night we also had no Air conditioning but Patrick (house Keeper) was amazing and immediately got it serviced the following morning. Apart from that the room door lock did bother up quite alot as it tended to keep us locked out for hours but again it is forgivable as we got to enjoy the house garden in the meantime.

First: well-maintained, beautiful house, clean and large. Great for adult groups or older children. But I personally would not travel there again with children (8-14). We felt a little controlled. The house is a pass, everything is very clean, the pool is a gift to enjoy it, and we all had intimacy since it has 4 rooms and all with private bathrooms.

The house is amazing, bedrooms, bathrooms and pool. The staff is also amazing, making everything possible to help, the chef service was very good and Patrick helped a lot managing to get our transfers during the stay.

We enjoyed ourselves so much in this villa! 4 nice bedrooms with all the attached bathrooms. Two kitchens but we only used the main. Great fridge and freezer which was appreciated! Amazing pool and everything taken care of. Patrick and his crew took great care of us, were always around but not that it was intrusive. The dirt road there was a disaster but could still drive with a stroller on it. The beach reached after a walk of 15 minutes. There is not much around but after a couple of days we found a shop and things that were needed. Patrick helped us with everything we needed. We stayed here completely privately and felt safe.

My family and I had an amazing stay at Hamia. Everything was superb from the second we arrived. Great entertainment area with a pool we spent many sunny days at. A special mention to Patrick and the rest of house team for making us feel welcomed and at home. Thank you Hamia! We will be back

Fantastic place and a true delight! A secluded haven within magnificent gardens with a beautiful pool, outdoor facilities and accommodation, all immaculately maintained and serviced by Patrick and his friendly team. Always hakuna matata and no worries to arrange fresh fish, transport or whatever. Thanks again Hamia for sharing your very special villa with us! The main beach, Kendwa, is spectacular and approximately a kilometre away. Almost half the route is via rather worn out gravel/dirt roads, but it's quite an easy downhill walk down to the beach and there are lots of taxis available back to the villa after a day in the sun and sea if required.

A family holiday for the birthday of our mother. We booked the whole house but understand one can book just a room. There are two buildings. One building has 4 four double-bed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms with one including an adjoining tiny room with a couch that can turn into one more bed. Each bedroom has a separate entrance. There is a kitchen that we did not use as we preferred to use the second building's kitchen with the area to sit near the swimming pool. We booked Monaish to make us breakfast and some meals, delicious. A big shout-out to Hamia and her team. Patrick who manages the house was wonderful and was there to arrange everything. The massages were a great bonus. It was not very clear the distance of the beach from the house and the bad condition of road. A good 15/20 minute walk so Patrick arranged a taxi.

If you're looking for an oasis and paradise, look no further. Hamia has it all and more and it is conveniently located at walking distance to the beach. Beats all the resorts by a long shot and has lots of character. Patrick and the rest of the staff were super nice, helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend!

Hamia's staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hamia booked transfers to/from airport. The path to the beach is more than 1 km, this is OK during the day but rocky and very difficult to navigate at night, so left us with no option than to dine in.
We have just returned from a two week stay at Villa Hamia. It is a beautiful place. We took our children (adults) with their partners and the set up was perfect. The pictures really don't capture how lovely this place is. Pool was a massive hit - it is very large and beautifully maintained by the Villa team. We were looked after with such care by Patrick and his team. The villa owner very kindly set up a rental mini van for us - I would highly recommend doing this for at least part of your stay to explore on your own. Taxis are easily found though. We found the Villa to be an oasis of calm and felt completely safe and secure. Thankyou team Hamia for a wonderful holiday!

We spent 3 nights at Hamia's place, and it was great! We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, and understood that the villa was entirely reserved for us. The 4 bedrooms of the listing are completely independent of the others. On site, Patrick and his team are there for the maintenance of the spaces, but are very discreet. They take care of every detail. Kendwa beach is a 15/20 minute walk (with children), so when it's hot it may seem long but it does very well. We wish we had stayed longer in this peaceful little corner.

Hamia was lovely and communicated so well. She would message us throughout our stay to ensure we were well looked after. The grounds keeper Patrick was fantastic, he was always around to help. The swimming pool and facilities are great, was so peaceful and beautiful. The rooms are fantastic, just what you need, lots of space and the bathroom is spacious. The location is good, only a 15/20 minute walk to the beach depending where you want to go. Amazing place to stay and the price is amazing for what you get.

The stay at Villa Hamia was dreamy, since arrival with Patrick welcoming us, giving us instructions on how to make our stay a vacation to remember. They helped us buy what we needed to spend a few days in the Villa, they were waiting for the phone so we could need, both Patrick and Hamia, and that always facilitates the stay. We really enjoyed Hamia's villa! Beautiful grounds, helpful and kind staff and co-hosts, great location, and rooms that were clean and well equipped. The plants are beautiful, rooftop, pool, workout space etc. This is not my first time in Zanzibar and I would recommend this villa to those who want a quick walk to Kendwa beach and to local places. The villa was a little difficult for our driver to find, but with a quick call to Patrick, we were able to find it. Use the RIU Palace as a landmark and it's easy from there. Patrick, Omar, and the rest of the staff were beyond helpful and friendly. Offer to take you grocery shopping, and make sure you have everything you need no matter what. They take good care of the beautiful grounds and take good care of you when you stay at the villa. Thank you for opening your space to us. I had a wonderful time and I will definitely be back!

Huge property with large pool and whirl pool. The three, Omar, Patrick and Moses, were always available or present. I really liked it all. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, the beach is about 15 minutes away, but possibility to take a taxi for the equivalent of 2 euros. We thought it was unfortunate to have no wifi at the pool. Otherwise very satisfied. Thank you all.

We loved our stay at Hamia! There was a group of us so we rented 3 of the rooms and had the place to ourselves. It was so beautiful and quiet; just what you need after coming back from the beach. Patrick, Moses, and Omar made our stay top tier! They were always available to assist us and went above and beyond to make sure we got where we were going and returned back with ease. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach or a quick taxi/piki piki (the roads are bumpy so the piki piki are more comfortable actually). There are places to get coffee and food nearby, about a 10 minute walk. We really enjoyed the area and so glad we chose to stay at Hamia rather than on the beach. The pool was so so nice too. There are two kitchens for guests to use as well. We would love to stay again!

I strongly recommend Hamia for every tourist, it feels so much like home, from the ambience to the facilities. Omar is a good host, he is the best host we experienced on our 12days visit to Zanzibar. He took us as his family, drive us around town in his personal Lexus SUV, showed us around, organized pleasant tour guides and drivers for us and even hosted us to a barbecue party. Patrick is Omar's staff and he is also a very kind person. Please let Omar be your host weather as a solo traveler, couple, family or group. It is totally worth every penny spent!

This place is a real gem! It is a beautiful, very clean and well-kept refuge. After a few minutes' walk past local outlets and stands that offer to meet daily needs and are run by friendly locals, you reach the immaculate white beach. Particularly noteworthy were the two employees Patrick and Moses, whose friendliness and helpfulness are difficult to surpass. Co-host Omar immediately took the time to go shopping with us shortly after arrival. He negotiated incredible prices 😉 and was always available to us for questions. If we are lucky enough to visit Zanzibar again, we will certainly come back here. Thanks again for everything 🙏

The villa overall is very nice and the staff are very friendly, helpful and respectful. The place was spotless and the pool is really fantastic. It is a little bit remote so it requires taxis to get around though you can walk to Kendwa beach in 20 mins.

Best stay on Zanzibar! We were a group of 7 people and enjoyed very much that we had the entire facility with pool and garden to ourselves. Above all, we also found Patrick super nice, who was always on site and helped directly with everything. Highly recommended overall if you are a larger group and want to enjoy privacy!

Perfect place for a larger family, we booked the whole villa and loved every moment in it. It's walking distance to Kendwa beach which is arguably better than Nungwi beach. Lovely approx 20 metre swimming pool with attached jacuzzi. My kids loved it and Omar with his sidekicks Patrick and genuine Masai, Moses attended to our needs. Will definitely be back here.

Hamia's villa was excellent, and we had so much fun in the pool! All the rooms were super nice and clean. It felt like home as soon as we arrived. Patrick took great care of us and was always there to help. We had security all day and night, which felt super secure. Definitely recommended!

Parrick the housekeeper was SUPER nice. He even visited the nearby little village with us and we bought everything for breakfast from the little vendor huts. The Room, pool and property is awesome and we liked the 10 minute walk to the beach because you feel like a local and see much more from the area than just your boring beachfront hotel

Hamia's place was a very good stay - it was a very clean place, although we didn't go in the pool, the pool area looked nice and the free to use washing machine was a blessing. Patrick was really helpful, which made the stay even easier. The only negative was that the AC wasn't great, so the room could get really hot.

even better than we expected! the house is modern and renovated, nice size room, large window panels, clean kitchen, amazing clean and large pool and the garden, property is full of lush trees.. very peaceful and relaxing, very comfortable. not to forget the onsite staff like Patrick, who go out of their way to make your stay the best. they guard the property, help you get what ever you need, give recommendations, and room cleaning service whenever you want. yes it's a bit far to walk to the beach or restaurants (especially in the blazing heat or dark nights), so having a car or mode of transport is ideal for your enjoyment. there is ample spot to park your car inside, and the Airbnb location is central to explore all the beaches in the northern kendwa and nungwi northern tip. all in all, if you're looking for a local feel, non resort, low cost, high value, peaceful, private, and homely vibes then this is your spot. if you want close to beach front, search elsewhere.

Everything was perfect. Very good communication with Hamia, Patrick was so kind and helpful! The house is beautiful and well decorated and the garden is lovely. We spent most of our time at the swimming pool, during low tides until the end of the day. The beach is just a 10min walk, and there are local restaurants and mini markets on the way, and it is very safe, even at night.

Patrick, the guy who took care of ours arrived, questions, etc. has been very friendly, always trying to help us in anything we needed and always caring. Thank you very much! The house and garden are like an oasis. It is beautifully laid out and cute chickens and guinea poultry run in the garden. Everything is clean and nicely prepared. Patrick was on site and helped us in a very friendly way with all things. Hamia responded immediately and was very helpful. Unfortunately, we had trouble finding the house and the route to the beach is quite long (about 20 min). Unfortunately, Zanzibar has a huge trash problem. It would be nice if the accommodation would do something about it, such as a water filter or a large water canister where you could refill bottles (for a fee).

We had the immense pleasure of staying for 3 weeks at Hamia Guest House. It went perfectly. The place is impeccable: clean, air-conditioned, quiet, equipped with a kitchen, hot water, etc. The garden is beautiful, the vegetation is lush, you will find a roof top with unobstructed views, a large pool with deckchairs and dining table. In short, I highly recommend! Our host Patrick was very welcoming and attentive to all our needs. The guesthouse is 10/15 minutes from the beach and other amenities. Think about your flashlights to walk back after dark, a long dark dirt road leads to this stunning house.

Great experience at Hamia's AirBnB! The property is beautiful and well kept, with all the amenities you need. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Kendwa beach, and a short 10 minute drive to Nungwi. Best of all was the exceptional service from Hamia's support staff - Patrick was always available to help and very kind. Highly recommend!

Patrick is a gem, facilitated our time there very well. The place is also great - we recommend getting a motorbike, which you can hire through Nungwi Scooter rental (you can find them on Google and theyll drop the scooter to the villa)

Very nice room, very clean and very quiet. Patrick's welcome went smoothly and is very helpful. The villa is a little off-center but we were looking for a quiet place to be able to work. The pool as well as the small enclosure that house the rooster, chickens and chicks are a very pleasant little plus. Rebecca is available via WhatsApp if you have any problems. Hamia's villa and the garden are truly beautiful and the sunset from the rooftop amazing. Also the pool is well kept and a nice place to hang out at. We also loved the blender in the kitchen and were able to enjoy the many tropical fruits in delicious smoothies. Unfortunately, there were many ants everywhere even in the bed, sink,... And after the first day we couldn't get the AC to work again. Overall this was a nice peaceful place with great people.

At Villa Hamia we were warmly welcomed. Our Haousekeeper Patrick did everything to make us feel comfortable. We were accommodated in room 3, which we liked very much. The garden is very beautiful and well maintained. We did not use the kitchen, but it is all there, including a washing machine. To the beach and to the nearest supermarket we needed about 15 minutes. Smaller shops are also nearby. If you are looking for peace and seclusion, this is the place for you!

Our stay at Hamia was very pleasant with wonderful staff and a beautiful pool. Our room was cleaned on a regular basis and we always got a nice surprise with flowers and a real island style towel "decoration". Becky, our hostess, was very flexible, friendly and accommodating always willing to assist with anything.

Hamiya has a wonderful tranquil place. I truely enjoyed each day I spent here, I had originally had booked for two days and ended up staying for 3 weeks. She is an extremely kind and welcoming person and it was my pleasure to meet her and be her guest. Her garden and pool area are the perfect area to relax in peace and quiet. The house is a short 10 mim walk to the beach in a safe neighborhood, I'm a solo female traveler and had no issues walking at anytime just make sure you carry a headlamp or torch. Having a kitchen and fridge on the property was so useful to be able to cook your own meals, her lovely housekeeper is really helpful in sharing local recipes. I look forward to coming back and spending time in this peaceful place.

Beautiful house 🏠 BEAUTIFUL garden 🪴 I loved my stay here and ended up extending it. The villa is placed in a calm neighborhood - the only noice you can hear is the occasional Cessna flying for tandem jumps, which suited me really well as I'm in Kendwa for tandem jump and PADI license. If you stay here you can look forward to chilling at the pool, looking at (what I think to be) beautiful Pemba sunbirds playing in the garden. Nights at the roof top looking at stars etc. (Rooftops big enough to host a family dinner with a beautiful view) Took me 10 minutes to walk to the beach. If you're lazy bota botas will charge you 2-3.000 TSH one way. Emmanuel (the caretaker of the land) is very friendly and he will take good care of you - I trust him 100%. Should you be in the case of walking home alone at night - don't be worried. Yes the road is unpaved and dark but you can buy little torches for 4.000 TSH incl batteries at almost all the nearby shops. Hot water showers if you remember to push the red button on the wall 😆

I guess this is the best Airbnb I've been to (and I've been to a lot)! The location is 5 minutes away from the beach and still you are in a very peaceful place. The room are absolutely clean, a bike is able to rent, the garden is wonderful (!) and there is someone who always takes of of the pool! I felt like home and easily would stay here for a month or two. If you can make sure to get the room on the second floor the view is even nicer there. The communication with Becky was great and I got helped with everything. Pick up from the airport, WIFI issues, food recommendations I had everything I needed. 100% recommendation!

The place is lovely and Becky was a great host. Pros: Swimming pool, lovely garden, great host, secure, comfortable beds, hot water, kitchen, refrigerator in the room. Cons: Away from the beach, not secure location to walk for a women, poor communication with stuff, no daily cleaning. If you want to be in a quite and safe place this is perfect match. But if you are a single lady, this place is away from the beach and main road. You need a company or take taxi. Thank you

Nice place with a beautiful garden and big pool. A bit of walking to Kendwa beach, so I recommend renting a scooter. Only thing that was a bit sad is that the pool was sometimes not very clean for swimming.

Very nice place with an amazing pool. The garden is a dream to chill in. Hamia Villa is super quiet but still close enough to reach some convenient stores by walk. Also the beautiful beach in Kendwa rocks resort(free to enter) is only a 10-15 minutes walk away. The place is nice and clean as well. Very nice and well equipped kitchen.

Rested from January 9 to January 31. We rented the entire house. Everything that's written in your listing description is accurate and up to date. The beach is a 15 minute walk. We rented a car from Becky, her employees helped arrange a license. Everything would be great, authentic, separate from others - we did not disturb anyone. The entire plot with a pool was at our disposal. For maintenance. There is a guardhouse nearby, in which the cleaners and a security guard live. They fulfill all requests: remove, change, help, clean. There are problems of a generalazanic nature that Becky could not influence: periodic power outages, the Internet was falling off, the roads are simply akhtung. Highly recommended for companies or family. Be sure to take a car
